I participated on Sunday 2th of May 2010 to this wonderful initiative by "Lens", the VERY interesting blog about photography, video and visual journalism of the New-York Times.
"With more than a bit of promotional hyperbole, we invited everyone with a camera to take a picture on Sunday, May 2, at 15:00 U.T.C. and submit it to The New York Times. For our part, we promised to cobble these together into a mosaic portrait of one “Moment in Time” around the world."
That's my moment, 17h02 in Geneva (= 15:00 U.T.C) , Switzerland, more exactly Rue de Carouge

Love the photograph! It spoke volumes to me. The many line patterns (series of boxes/squares/rectangles).
The power of unspoken thoughts/attitudes in the faces. The power from the poster - almost a threat with the candles or looks like candles which in turn seem to be spears or weapons - almost menacing. The tension created by the people. The man looks as if he is trying to protect or keep the younger lady from the condition of the older woman. To me, the poster candles represent time as candles on a cake. The profiled women represent youth and age.
The presence of fear and certainty in an odd combined way. The postures - the man's face as he views the waiting woman. The lady being held does not seem to be surrendered to the embrace and almost not moved by the man at all. Just very very interesting and truly open to interpretation of all kinds. Black and white - very powerful. So many innuendos. But this is simply an emotional reaction from one person.
(I feel like I am missing something extremely valuable by not knowing the word Pessah.)
